  • Parents and staff meeting - Tuesday 26th June 2018

    Tue 19 Jun 2018

    Dear Parent / Carer

As Head Teacher, I am always looking for ways to improve our school and I am aware that one of the most important aspects of our school community is to have good relationships with our parents and carers. With this in mind, I try to operate an open door policy to enable you to speak to me with any concerns or problems related to your child. The team and I will try to help address any of these issues, as we value open communication which ultimately benefits the child.

You will be aware that recently the Police and Local Authority have been working with local residents in order to improve Beacon Lough Estate. School is part of that approach and I would really like to build on this by forming stronger links with our parents.

Ofsted and other professional who come into school have congratulated us on how happy and well supported the children are in school and we pride ourselves in trying to meet every child’s needs.

In order to support the school further, we very much value your views on the matter. Therefore, we invite you into school on Tuesday 26th June at 2.00pm to chat to Governors, Staff and me; looking at what works well and ways in which we can improve. I really hope you will find the time to attend as we want our children to have the best possible experience at Larkspur Primary School.

Your views are crucial to us and we encourage you to “have a voice”. Your co-operation and support can make a real difference. Please confirm your attendance on the reply slip below. I look forward to seeing you soon.

    Yours sincerely

    Mrs M Liddle

    Head Teacher

  • Year 5 Residential Visit - Jamie's Italian Kitchen (19th June 2018)

    Wed 13 Jun 2018

    Dear Parents / Carer

To celebrate all the achievements and hard work this year, we have arranged for the Year Five class to visit Jamie’s Italian Kitchen at Newcastle on Tuesday 19th June.

The children will have a fun filled morning including “Pizzette making”, learning about the cooking process, and they will then get to eat their own made Pizzette. The children will also complete a tour of the restaurant. We will then walk and explore the Quayside to support our learning for our rivers topic in geography, ending the visit at the Baltic.

If your child has any known food allergies please provide details on the slip below. We require this permission slip in order for your child to attend, so please return it to school as soon as possible.

We will leave school at 9.15am by coach and return to school at 2.45pm. Full school uniform should be worn.

Although the children do make and eat their own Pizzette, it is quite small, therefore we still recommend that your child brings a packed lunch / snacks. Children entitled to free school meals can be provided with a school packed lunch free of charge but must bring their own drink from home. Please indicate on the reply slip if your child requires a school packed lunch.

We are now required by Health and Safety to inform parents of the risks that your child may face during the Educational Visit. These may include cuts, burns, slips, trips and falls.

The cost of this visit has been subsided by school but we do require a £3 donation towards the visit.

    Yours sincerely
