Canopic Jars
We made canopic jars with clay.
Canopic jars are containers that were used by the ancient Egyptians during the mummification process, to store and preserve the viscera of their owner for the afterlife. They were commonly either carved from limestone or made of pottery.
Our canopic jars turned out great!
Mechanical Cam Toy
The children have been learning that a cam mechanism is a linkage system which has a follower to convert rotary movement to linear movement, and explored different examples of these in moving toys. During their independent learning activities, they had the chance to explore some toys with cam mechanisms for themselves.
