PE takes place every Wednesday afternoon in Reception. All children have been supplied with a school PE kit. However, they will need a pair of trainers or plimsoles which they can keep in school on their pegs.
When they are ready to start reading, children will be issued with a new reading book every Friday. They will also get to choose a book from the school library to share with an adult. Please read the books with your child and comment in their reading diary. Book bags should be brought into school every day.
As they progress through the phonics scheme, children will take home copies of the sounds we have been learning in class. Please use these flashcards to practise sound recognition. You can also use the cards to make simple words such as cat, sat, mat etc for your child to practise blending to read.

The Larkspur Cafe
Each time your child reads a book they get a stamp on their loyalty card.
When they have 6 stamps they can visit the Larkspur Cafe for a hot chocolate and a shared story.
The more your child reads, the more often they will get to go the cafe.
Larkspur Cafe runs every Friday afternoon with Miss Hall.
