Lockdown in School
Coronavirus Lockdown
In March 2020 the whole of the UK were put on lockdown!
A lockdown to force people to stay at home beyond a small range of very limited circumstances had been put in place due to a very dangerous virus. Under the terms explained by Boris Johnson, our prime minister, people will be allowed to leave home only for the following reasons:
- shopping for necessities, as infrequently as possible;
- one form of exercise a day, such as running or cycling, alone or with household members;
- for medical or care needs, for example to help a vulnerable person;
- travelling to and from work, but only if you cannot work from home.
Meeting friends, shopping for anything beyond essentials, and gathering in crowds are now banned.
The only children allowed in schools are those of key workers and the most vulnerable.
This was a very uncertain time.
During this lockdown period we have been learning about lots of new things in school. We have been making floor books too. This will remind us in years to come what we did during this very unusual time of our lives.
