Events and Tournaments

Early Years Sporty Superheroes

Reception children attended the Sporty Superhero Multi-skills event led by the Gateshead SSP at Gateshead Stadium. The children thoroughly enjoyed themselves, worked brilliantly as a team and represented the school admirably. 

KS1 Indoor Athletics 

Children from KS1 attended an indoor athletics competition. They had an amazing time! Their experience competing against other local schools was fantastic and they all left with huge smiles on their faces!

Year 5/6 Indoor Athletics 

Our Year 5 and 6 children participated in the Gateshead Stadium indoor athletics competition. There were two sections to the competition: track and field events. Our girls' and boys' teams performed admirably, and they should both be very proud of themselves!

Year 5/6 Netball Tournament

Huge well done to our pupils who represented us in the Year 5/6 netball tournament at Gateshead Stadium. They returned with silver medals after they finished 2nd in their group, winning 1, drawing 1 and losing 1. 

Boccia Tournament

Two teams, made up of children from Year 2-6, attended a boccia tournament at Gateshead Stadium. The children had a wonderful time training for the tournament with Josh, our Active Future coach. It was a great experience for them to compete against other schools in the area. 

They all worked so well as a team and represented the school wonderfully.

Year 3/4 Basketball Tournament

Huge well done to our Mini Basketball teams who represented us at this tournament. They represented the school perfectly and achieved a bronze medal for finishing 3rd! 

Year 5/6 Hockey Tournament

Children from year 5 and 6 took part in a hockey tournament at Lord Lawson. The children prepared for the tournament by working with Josh for a few weeks. After 5 fantastic games, the children won 2, drew 1 and lost 2, and finished the group in 3rd place with 10 points! The children showed respect throughout and represented the school wonderfully. A special mention for Poppy, who played fantastically throughout, and scored 6 goals!

Year 3 Hockey Tournament

During Spring term, Year 3 took part in a hockey tournament at Lord Lawson. The children prepared for the tournament with Josh for a several weeks leading up to the tournament. The class were excellent representatives of the school and behaved with respect at all times as they always do!

Dance Festival

This years dance festival theme was equality. Several children from KS2 worked with Jessica to choreograph a beautiful dance, fitting with the theme of equality. They performed it wonderfully at The Glass House in Gateshead in front of an enormous crowd. Please see the link below to our Facebook page to view the dance video. 

Year 3/4 Tennis Tournament

8 fabulous children from Year 3 and 4 took represented the school at Cardinal Hume in a tennis tournament. Rhys and Darcie won every single game and helped the rest of their team to reach the final of the tournament! The children’s scores were added together and they beat their opponents by 9 points to win gold medals and win the tournament! 

Year 4/5 Girls’ Football

Year 4 and 5 girls, some who have not played football competitively before, took part in a girls’ football tournament at Gateshead Power League during Summer 1. The girls all worked as hard as they could and performed excellently against many other schools. They won 1 out of their 3 games and finished 3rd in their group. They all left with huge smiles on their faces and a new found passion for football!
Well done girls!
