Science Learning Bus
On Friday 15th of March we were very lucky! All of the KS2 children had time on the Learning Bus. This is a double decker bus, revamped into a brand new multi-functional mobile learning space. Click the link and take a look at the amazing story behind this great experience.
Year 5 visited the bus after lunch for an hour. We did the egg drop challenge. The challenge was to drop an egg from the top window of the bus without it smashing. The children were split into groups. Each group had a virtual £100 to spend on resources. This was a fantastic experience. Take a look at our photos. They say it all!
10 pupils from Year 5 have been selected to work with Richard Rothwell. Richard is teaching the group cycling skills and will be taking the group out for bike rides during the year to put these new skills to use. The pupils are very excited to take part and Richard has commented about how great of a group they are.
Pupils in Year 4 and 5 spent the day at Jarrow Hall. This was linked to their history topic Anglo-Saxons. During the day they visited the museum, the farm and the village. It was interesting to see first hand how the Saxons lived. They really enjoyed meeting one of the Saxon villagers who was full of interesting facts. Sitting around the fire helped to warm us all up.
"I love this day, it has been epic." Owen T.
"I have learnt a lot today." Levi
"The best bit was being scared with Mrs Knox in the Saxon house. It was very dark." Ellie
Year 5 enjoyed their trip today.
