Larkspur Community Primary School

Growing Towards Tomorrow

Headteachers Welcome

Mrs Katy Anglesea - Headteacher

On behalf of the children, staff and governors, I would like to offer you a very warm welcome to Larkspur Community Primary School.

I am Katy Anglesea, the new Headteacher of Larkspur, and I am extremely proud and privileged to lead this school. Having worked in education for the last 22 years as a class teacher, Deputy headteacher and Acting Headteacher, I am very excited to now lead my own school - one which I know we can grow into a very special place of learning.

Larkspur is a one-form entry primary school providing academic and pastoral provision for children from Nursery to Year 6. In our warm and welcoming Nursery, we accommodate children from 2 years old and offer both morning and afternoon spaces.

Our school offers a safe and happy environment set in spacious grounds, which we are continuously developing. We are fortunate to have a dedicated team of committed, experienced and skilled staff, in addition to a range of excellent internal and external facilities and resources that enable us to deliver high-quality teaching and impactful learning experiences for our pupils.

At the heart of everything we do at Larkspur is our ethos and values. We consistently strive for a balance between high expectations for children’s academic attainment, progress and potential, as well as their personal and social development. Recognising each child as a unique individual with specific talents and needs, we aim to provide a nurturing and inclusive environment where they can flourish. Our dedicated staff team work tirelessly to provide the very best for the children and families we serve.

We greatly value our position at the centre of the community. Collaborating closely with Larkspur House, our families and the wider community, we aim to enrich the life of our school and its curriculum. Establishing and nurturing links with local businesses, sports organisations and projects is a key focus for us.

Our pupils are a source of immense pride for us and certainly impressed me on my initial visits. They demonstrate resilience and determination, always embodying a 'can-do' attitude towards their work, play, and interactions with others - truly encapsulating the spirit of Larkspur Community Primary School.

For new parents and carers joining our school community, we invite you to work with us in partnership to ensure your child achieves their true potential.

We encourage and warmly welcome visits: the children, staff and I would be delighted to show you around our wonderful school.
