Growing Towards Tomorrow

Parental Involvement

Parental Involvement

In the Early Years we aim to build strong relationships with children's families. We aim to communicate with parents and carers on a daily basis when they drop off and collect their children.  We value their input and encourage them to be active participants in their child's education within the setting.

Stay and Play

Parents and carers are invited into the setting for a stay and play session each half term.  This is a lovely opportunity for you to find out how we teach through play in the Early Years.  Stay and play sessions may include craft mornings, themed sessions or simply a chance to come along and play with your child within the session.  We would love you or another family member to come and play alongside your child and meet the staff.

Informal drop ins

Within the Early Years the children's learning is documented within their learning journeys. These books are a celebration of the children's achievements. We welcome parents and carers to drop in to look through the learning journey with their child and discuss their child's progress with the staff. The children love to show off their achievements!

Wow moments

We would love to hear about any wow moments that your child has outside of school. This could be achievements at clubs, first time riding their bike without stabilisers, helping around the house, dressing themselves etc. Wow moment slips are available in the Early Years foyer.

Volunteers welcome...

If you have a few spare hours a week we would love you to come in and help. We are always needing people to help hear children read or support children in their play and it is a great opportunity for you to see what your child gets up to each day!

Do you have a hobby such as gardening, woodwork, knitting, cooking etc that you could share with the children or help work with us on projects within the school? We would love to work together with you, please speak to a member of staff to discuss further.
